What’s the difference between a demo and a licensed Dr.Web?
The only difference between these two versions is their usage term. You can use the demo only for 30 days. There are no other differences because our developers believe that a program with limited functionality won’t give a new user an idea of how the program works.
Can I try out your anti-virus before I buy it and how can I do it?
By all means any user willing to buy an anti-virus needs to try it on his computer. Doctor Web gives its would-be-customers an opportunity to become familiar with Dr.Web anti-virus within 30 days. A user may get a demo key once in four months. The key advantage of our demo version is its full functionality i.e. it doesn’t have any feature disabled. The only limitation is one month of usage.
If you are a home user of a Windows computer download a distribution file, install a program on your computer and register. You need to be connected to the Internet to perform the last step. During registration you’ll have to choose “Get a demo key file” and get a key file that will allow you to use the application for 30 days. The key file will be automatically downloaded and placed in a required directory.
If you want to try other anti-virus products by Doctor Web file a request for a demo-key using the web-form.
What do I do if I have some questions while using a demo?
A link to a user manual can be found next to a download link for a corresponding program. A manual contains detailed instructions on how to use an anti-virus. First of all we recommend you to read a user manual. An answer to your question is likely to be found there. Users who are only getting to know Dr.Web can also try the Frequent questions.
I’m using a demo version of Dr.Web. However, when I turned on my computer today the green spider in the system tray became red. Now I get a message that my term if usage has expired after every reboot. What happened?

Do I need to uninstall the demo version of the program before installing the full licensed version?
Uninstallation is not necessary here. In order to turn a demo into a full licensed program you need to purchase a license and register it. Right-click on a spider icon in the system tray and select “Register” A connection to the Internet is required for registration. At a certain point during registration you’ll have to choose “Use a serial number to get a key file”. A key file will be automatically downloaded and placed in a required directory.
