Renewal terms

A renewal discount is provided for licenses that fulfill the following requirements:

• A renewal discount is available for licenses with a term no shorter than six months*.
• A renewal discount is applicable to the same Dr.Web product purchased for 1, 2 or 3 years.
• A renewal discount is given only upon submission of a previous key file or a serial number.

What renewal discounts are available?

A renewal multiplier depends on a user group and a term of your new license. The discount multiplier is applied to a price of a one year license.

How can I renew a demo license?

No renewal discounts are available for a demo version. A discount is provided only for a renewal of a commercial license and is not applicable to a demo license. In order to continue using a Dr.Web product when the evaluation period is over you need to buy a new license from partners of Doctor Web or from a Dr.Web e-store.

How can I renew a beta-version?

No renewal discounts are available for beta-versions. No renewal discounts are available for a demo version. A discount is provided only for a renewal of a commercial license and a beta-version is not. Commercial licenses for tested products can be given free of charge to beta-testers.

How can I renew a commercial license?

• • If you already use Dr.Web for Windows to protect 1 or 2 computers just purchase a renewal license from partners of Doctor Web or from a Dr.Web e-store. The price of a renewal license already includes the discount.

IMPORTANT! You can just as well purchase an ordinary Dr.Web for Windows without a discount. However, if you have used the program for at least 6 months before and specify your previous serial number or submit a previous key file during the registration of your new license, the validity of the license will be increased by 100 days.

If you have purchased a renewal license (the price includes athe discount) but fail to specify your previous serial number or a key file, the validity of your new license will be decreased by 100 days.

• If you are using Dr.Web from a bundle – special low prices are set for bundles so no discounts including the renewal are available for bundles.
• If you are using any Dr.Web product other than specified above visit a renewal page.

Who can get a 100 day renewal bonus?

Extra 100 days of use are given to customers who purchase an ordinary license and pay a full price to renew instead of getting a renewal DVD-box.

The problem is that a renewal DVD-box (Dr.Web for Windows for 1 or 2 PCs) can be unavailable in your location. In this case a user has no other choice but to buy a new license and pay a full price. But what about the renewal discount which is not included in the price of a new license? In this case the overpay will be returned to customers as extra 100 days of usage that will be added to the term of a new license during registration. Such an extension of a new license term allows Doctor Web to return extra money paid for renewal as extra usage days so eventually a user gets a discount.

Can I renew at a discount after my license has expired?

There are no limitations regarding the expiration date of your previous license. You can still renew at a discount even if your previous license expired several years ago.

Can I register a serial number for renewal while my previous license is still valid? What will happen to my current license?

You can register a serial number of your new-bought renewal license at any time even before your current license has expired. The remaining validity time of your current license will be added to the new one during registration. All you need to do is specify a key file or a serial number of your current license.

A key file is required for renewal. What is a key file and where can I find it?

A key file is a special file of a program that lists allowed components and sets the validity of a license. The file has the .key extension and can be found in the installation directory of Dr.Web software (in Windows it is typically C:\Program Files\DrWeb\drweb32.key).

My Dr.Web license had expired before I purchased a renewal license. When would my renewal term start in this case?

If renewed a license that had already expired the renewal license would become valid as soon as it is registered.

Can a company renew a license for Dr.Web using the e-store? Will my company receive all papers regarding the purchase that are required for accounting?

I have purchased a license at a discount under a special offer. Can such a license be renewed at a discount?

If your license has a term of at least 6 months you can renew the license at a discount as any other user of Dr.Web anti-virus programs.

I have purchased a license for a Dr.Web anti-virus under the "Change for the green" programme. Is a renewal discount available under the programme?

As ny registered user of Dr.Web products you may get a renewal discount which will depend on the term of a renewal license you want to buy.

If I pay for two three month licenses and register two serial numbers will I get a renewal for six months?

If you register both serial numbers in one day they both become valid the same day they have been registered. Consequently, they will have the same expiration date, i.e. three months later. If you register only one serial number and register another when the first serial number has expired, you will get six months of use. But it doesn’t make sense – two subsequent three month licenses won't allow you to have a discount and you'll pay more for these two licenses than for one six month license.
